Lisanne: My first Sims event

Friday, February 25, 2011 - 22:10

On Tuesday February 2011 SNW was invited in Amsterdam to attend the Sims Medieval event! It was a pity I didn't learn a lot of new things. Because I had already written an extensive preview in Germany about the game, I asked Lisanne if she could share her story about her experience with us, so I could publish it on the website! And she did just this. Here is her short story.

Without really knowing what to expect, but very excited, I took the train on Tuesday to Amsterdam to attend the Sims Medieval presentation.

It started with a presentation given by... what's his name again? :P (Aaron Cohen, red.). With a lot of humor and presentation skills he showed us what was possible in the game. From a distance it already looked amazing. After the presentation we also learned that this would be an entirely new game with expansions.

Then it was time to start playing the game ourselves. With the two of us we tried creating our own kingdom. One of the things that stood out immediately was that the Sims look so much more realistic than in previous Sims games. The environment looks great, with a lot of details. I can't really compare it to anything, since I'm not that experienced with other Sims games. But for me as a n00b it looked really awesome, with a lot of possibilities.

Despite my ignorance when it comes to The Sims, I immediately understood (with some help from an expert) what I was supposed to do and what was possible in the game. The help specially came in handy because I didn't feel like spending the short amount of time on reading everything, though I have to say it is all very well explained.

After having played the game for a while, after winning some Medieval duals, it was unfortunately already time to go home. Though we didn't leave empty-handed. We got a lovely, stuffed goodie bag!

Who knows, when the game is in store, I might just buy it and find out for myself how easily I can get addicted!

A special thanks goes out to EA for this special experience! And of course also thank you to SNW for inviting me to come along!
